New objects are to be opened on the 17th of September in the city of Blagoevgrad

Renovated antique building nearby the village Drenkovo, Blagoevgrad area, is opened today. Fragmented restoration of the ruin, dated back to 3-4 century A.C., was made, as well as an exhibit of the building in the open air. The project foresees also promotion of the archaeological object in the village of Drenkovo as tourist destination.

The 6-km segment of the road between Blagoevgrad and the resort area “Bodrost” in Rila Mountain will be officially opened on Wednesday. It is a part of municipality’s road infrastructure and is of great importance for the tourism development. The road guarantees fast and safe access to the winter resort of Blagoevgrad in the area Bodrost and the ski complex “Kartala”, which opening is due to happen.

The construction work of ski center “Kartala” in Rila Mountain will be represented also on Wednesday. The investment project includes expansion of the existing and actively used necessary equipment for tourism and respite and further development of the ski zone, situated 30km away from Blagoevgrad. The aim of the project is the transformation of the ski center into modern, competitive winter resort at the national and international market. This might become possible by the construction of new ski tracks and facilities, infrastructure, hotels, fast food restaurants and a variety of amusements. The project will be carried out in the period 2007/2010 into three stages.The total estimation of the project is 50 million €.
