Professor Ovcharov to Acquaint China With Bulgarian History

Twelve short films will present the beauty of the Bulgaria's old capital Veliko Tarnovo, the town of Kazanlak in the Rose Valley, the coastal city of Varna and other beautiful sights of Bulgaria before 500M Chinese. Two Chinese TV channels are shooting in Tsarevets Fortress and on Samovodska Charshiya (Samovod marketplace) in Veliko Tarnovo. Archaeologists Nikolay Ovcharov and Hitko Vachev will be the narrators, who will tell about Bulgaria's ancient history and its powerful medieval kingdom. In about three months the films will be shown first in China and later in Bulgaria.
Meanwhile two teams from the Japanese TBS channel are shooting 30-minute films about Veliko Tarnovo. The reels will be presented in Japan August in a TV programme dedicated to cultural tourism in different countries around the world.
