Bulgaria’s fund “13 Centuries of Bulgaria” suggested the town of Tryavna, its icon painting and wood carving school to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Other places suggested for inclusion are the Alexandrovo tomb, the Bachkovo monastery, Samokov icon painting school, the Zemen monastery and the unique rock Basarbovo monastery.
The organization foresees the creation of a map and illustrated brochure, representing Bulgarian sites, already included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and the new landmarks which will be eventually included in the list.
Bulgaria’s cultural monuments will have been presented in all towns along the River Volga by the end of this year.
